Stamperland 2001s

Cambuslang FA 9-3 Stamperland Jnrs.

After playing Camby over recent years I knew this would be a tough ask but thought we competed for the first 20 even managing to rally after going 1-0 by going straight up the park and equalising right away, but after that it was all Camby as the raced to a 6-1 half time lead with their number 11 giving our defence the run around.
We tried everything from trying to spring the offside trap to giving him space and then try to move in to get the back off him but we just couldn’t cope with him and toward the end of the first half their keeper made an outstanding save at his right hand post to put out any chance we thought we might have had.

Second half we managed to get into the game a bit and created a few chances but just couldn’t get the ball in the back of the net, all day long we struggled with the movement and passing but a real beauty off the underside of the bar from Jordan gave us something to smile about towards the end of the game on a cold afternoon.
This was definitely one of our tougher opponents we will face this season so on to next week and pick the boys up and see what we can do.
Bit more fighting spirit and desire to win the ball required next week, too many times today we were half hearted going into challenges and after that there’s only one outcome.
We need to get back to doing the simple things right instead of trying to overplay the ball…..if in doubt just put it out!!!!
