Stamperland Jnrs 5-6 Giffnock Milan

Absolutely gutted for the boys today they put so much into this game but got nothing for it, to score 5 goals and not win the game is so frustrating but luck wasn’t on our side today.
We started with Mathew Perry coming in to man mark their number 9 who gave our back line a torrid time all day, we started the brighter of the two teams as we looked to sneak an early goal which we did when about 10 mins in Jack scored the first of his 2 goals today, Giffnock got back into it with a looping ball in and no challenge bang 1-1, we shot ourselves in the foot again after Jack had put us 2-1 up with really poor defending from another high ball.
After that they turned the screw for a rapid ten minutes spell where they shot off to a 5-2 lead at half time.
Got the boys in made 4 subs and told them it was time to pull the socks up and get on with it which they did by dominating the entire second half with James and Jordan leading the line well up front hitting the post the bar and have numerous chances and with this I thought we had no chance of getting back into it but Raheem shot through on a great run to slot the ball by the keeper 5-3 with 30 mins to go it was game on. All Giffnock had was punting the ball up and hoping the ball broke for their number 9 which it did a few times but luckily we rode our luck and he hit the post a couple of times and a few shots off target.
So it was up to us to drag ourselves back from the brink for the second week in a row and with the ball breaking to Seb in the box he lashed the ball by the keeper to make it squeaky bum time for Giffnock, think we thought we had to push everyone forward and this was our down fall as we still had 5 to get back into it and the ball was sent through causing Lewis problems as he tried to foul outside the box he ended up bringing down the man in the box and threw Giffnock a life line to get 2 back in front again which they did. 6-4 with a couple of mins left we managed to get back into it again with Jordan making it 7 goals in three games, a real find for us as he’s linked up great with James in attack and brings a different dimension to us now. Sitting at 6-5 we still had chances to draw but with one final free kick everyone was up including Cammy in goal but the ball was over hit and went out of play and that was that.
Some great performances today all round with Bruce coming on like for like for Kai down the left also had chances to score and Talha in the middle of the park was so composed he looked like he was going backwards at times.

Credit to Giffnock today they took their chances well first half but we were by far the better team on the day….we just ran out of luck but we will pick ourselves up and move on to the next challenge!!!!

Note to self’s:- if we’d tackled in midfield the way we did second half it would have been oh so different.
