Cambuslang are a team who will be fighting for medals towards the end of the season I’m sure and today we had a game plan to try to combat their style of play by letting them have the ball from their back line and try to nick the ball in midfield and try to create something from there, having the defensive line back to normal this week we really worked hard and limited them to shots from long range efforts, and anything that came into the box Alex was back to his best and was dealing with it, in training we’ve been working hard on passing and first touches and managed to get a few spells in the game where we strung a number of passes together, only problem was we don’t open the play up quickly enough and use the wide players or when the wide players are in space they fail to DEMAND the ball, something which I always tell the lads to do, once we get that, and combine it with a much needed striker upfront we can then try to convert the limited chances we create.

Great resilient performance today again against a good passing side, we must learn to be brave on the ball and open up more quickly when we get the ball and be all round more positive going forward.

Man of the match for us WEE Ally in the middle of the park don’t think there was and inch of Astro he didn’t cover in the midfield today, just needs better support at times when he’s doing the hard work and winning the ball.
