Cambuslang Reds 5-5 Stamperland Jnrs

Not a great pitch to be being playing football on today, long grass and a bit muddy but both sets of players adapted well, over the piece I think most will agree a draw was the right outcome today.
We opened the scoring within the first 5 mins and looked really comfortable as the match progressed, both teams created a few openings but I felt we looked more likely to score again as we had corner after corner but Camby equalised just about the half hour mark and brought them right into the game.
As we approached half time we managed to sneak in and get that boost of a goal just before half time.
Sitting at 2-1 I opted to make a couple of changes but we really struggled as Camby took the game by the scruff of the neck and hit us for six to go on and make it 4-2 with some great play from their number 11 who was giving us all sorts of problems with a tricky pitch,we still managed to stick at it and showed true grit to get back in to this as we pegged them back to 4-3 but almost immediately they scored again, standing at the sidelines I thought game over but the boys had other ideas and proved what spirit they have as we clawed our way back in to make it 5-4 with 7 mins left but thought our luck had run out. With a game in the other pitch way over on the other side I heard a roar as a team had obviously scored a winner and spurred my boys on with a cry of that could be us…..which it was with about mins left we created probably the scrappiest goal you’ll ever see but it felt like a win and as I looked big Alex from goal summed my team up as he ran the length of the park to join the boys piling on to Tahla who sent us in to celebration.
Now undefeated in three games with Giffnock coming up next week I think a few sleepless night may come in this week as we try to plan the derby win we all at Stamperland Jnrs crave so if your not busy next week why not come along and support the oldest age group at the club…..I will post where abouts later on in the week.
Such a good game to be involved in highs, lows and some great football in difficult conditions from both teams I can really say I’m happy with our point today as the boys really scrapped it out second half.
Oh and I’ve to mention the fact that captain Adam who was sub at the time spotted we were struggling with no holding midfielder and was immediately put back on and we seemed to get some joy again, which for me shows that the boys are really concentrating and I’m always up for input from them as to how this team goes…as I always say to them I only do the admin and sort out games and shout and ball instructions at the side but more than willing to take advise from them as this is their team!!!!
Happy birthday Chris(you never scored) Noble and Cammy and Jack over the coming days.

MOTM today Raheem in his new left back position got forward and back to cover.

Well in today troops C’mon the Stampy
