Stamperland Jnrs 2-9 Stonelaw BC

A really poor first half performance had us questioning each other today, no spirit no fight no desire left me standing at the side asking questions like why do we put ourselves through it every week and what do we need to do to get the breaks of half chances to go our way.
Yes Stonelaw were the better team all day long but it took us until half time and a few choice works of pathetic and spineless to get the boys to play and they responded in a way I need them to be from the first minute, we started to match them put pressure on them and they made mistakes and we got our reward by making it 6-1 and I gave the shout of let’s at least try to win this half, some great spirit and bit more passion led us to create more chances but typical us we just couldn’t finish, Stonelaw scored again twice before we managed to create a well worked goal down the right, we also managed to miss a penalty which had summed up our last few games.

We can have the excuse of not playing for three weeks and lacking fitness but if we just concentrate and be brave especially when we are playing against strikers who play on the last defender just push up and play the off side trap a lot of goals wouldn’t have been scored today.
First half must be remembered as we need more focus on matching teams from the off but second half what a performance as we never lost faith in what we were trying to do and stuck to our tasks, disappointed but overall if we show a bit of fight like the second half from the start then we can put teams under pressure.

Man of the match…again Jack Miller, he shows that he cares by moaning, but never gives up he even chased down a ball that he had no chance of getting something the rest of the boys need to get in the locker,
Next game Glenvale AFC, a tough team but total focus on training this week and let’s give them a game, show me a bit of fight next week boys I know you have it in you.
