Giffnock Milan 1-1 Stamperland Jnrs

Always look forward to these games but hate them on the day, but good old derby day gave us a chance to get points on the board.
Selection was hard this week as I was told on Tuesday at training that 5 were unavailable for selection for today and I thought oh no this might not be pretty but what a performance from the team today.
We started the brighter of the two teams and look to try to get that early goal to settle the nerves, but all day long from start to finish we couldn’t slide that final pass without Giffnock springing the off side trap, don’t really like the way they were drilled by the whole team shouting “he’s off” at every opportunity but you’ve just got to get on with it and try to time the runs better.
Really should have been out of sight first half but with only a slender lead of 1-0 at half time we needed to make sure we were still keeping up our levels but we dropped a bit and allowed them to get themselves back into the game and they had a spell for about 20 mins which made us pay as the equaliser knocked the stuffing out us for a bit.

Had to some how spark the boys back to life and we did as we then dominated the game again as we searched for the winner and created numerous chances but couldn’t finish the game off so 1-1 it finished. Can’t be to disheartened as the boys put in some shift today and came off disappointed we never got the 3 points today.
On to Wednesday against a tough Cambuslang team but the same effort as today and you never know what can happen in football.
Well played today troops what a start to the season we have made, tougher tests to come but really proud the way we all adapted to having only 1 regular defender available today.
