Stamperland Jnrs 0-2 St Cadocs

Great game tonight from both sets of players, could only ask the boys to give as much as they could after a long lay off but they delivered a great performance and really could have been a couple of goals to the good at one point but in typical Jnrs fashion it was a hard luck story as fitness and movement from the from the front men of St Cadocs took it right out us.

Think in the first half we maybe just shaded it but St Cadocs dug in and stood firm, which meant we only really created a few chances the best of which fell to Dylan but putting his shot off target meant it was 0-0 at half time.
Tried to keep ourselves compact but with the pitch not great under foot both teams struggled to keep their feet which meant a few late challenges which started taking its toll on us as we had to make substitutions about 10 times in the last 15 mins which upset the rhythm of the team and eventually the good movement and pace along with the fitness sapped the legs from us and they scored two rapid goals to put us to bed.

Overall I’m delighted the way we have started this season normally we don’t kick a ball until late on but credit to the team tonight we stuck to our rolls and made sure we were working hard and that’s all you can ask especially when your first game was against the champs of our league last season, well played to both sets of players tonight on a tricky surface.

A few sore legs tomorrow I’m sure, but looking forward to Saturday already.
