Gourock YAC 6-2 Stamperland Jnrs

After a poor display last week and coming down the coast to a tough Gourock side we knew this would be a hard game, after all the match reports and talking and moaning about conceding poor goals at corners guess what we lost a goal from a corner to go 1-0 down but it wasn’t a lack of defending or commitment just a loose ball we tried to clear as Alex came out and the clearance came off him and in our own net, boys reacted brilliantly though and went straight up the park and pulled a goal back to level it, game went from end to end with both teams playing well but could sense we had them rattled a bit, as we tried to create that chance to get in front they instead pulled clear and got a rather soft penalty I felt 2-1.
We pulled a goal back through a great move and Ally found himself in space at the edge of the box and slotted home to make it 2-2, Gourock had the wind at their back and a looping hit caught Alex out and made it 3-2 at half time, really felt we should have had something but gave away two goals second half with no marking in the box and that finished us off.

Always know when we give teams a fright as the seem to have a go at our boys, credit to Gourock today really turned the screw second half but sitting 5th and looking at our position I couldn’t see much difference first half and for short spells second half.
With changes in training on a Thursday night really hoping the boys hard work pays off as they really do put in a lot of effort to games and seem to get nothing, a big test next week against Pirie park a team sitting right above us only on 3 points so need to be up for that as we look to play a few teams round about us so hopefully pick up some points in coming weeks.
